About Us

Welcome to the Shanenawa Family – Association for Indigenous Culture, Education, Conservation and Community.
We are committed to promoting education and knowledge about indigenous cultures and supporting local projects in the Brazilian Amazon region. At the heart of this work is the collaboration with the Shanenawa community in the village of Nova Vida (Feijó, Acre) through Casa de Cura Pakakuru ("Pakakuru Healing Hause").
Our goal is to preserve and pass on the cultural, ecological, and spiritual values of the Shanenawa – ensuring that traditional knowledge remains alive and benefits future generations.
At the same time, we promote personal development, self-determination, and intercultural dialogue. We aim to build bridges between cultures, strengthen understanding, and contribute to an open and respectful society.
Our work includes:
-
Educational programs and workshops on indigenous culture and anthropology
-
Support for ecological projects and sustainable ways of living
-
Collaboration with artists, educational institutions, and organizations worldwide
-
Events and spaces for exchange and shared learning
We believe that sustainable development arises from respect, education, and collaboration – for the Shanenawa and for our shared world.
Become part of our network and help share knowledge, preserve culture, and strengthen the connection between humans and nature.
Pakakuru Institute

The Pakakuru Institute is a non-profit organization of the Shanenawa, founded in 2026. Its goal is to independently plan and implement sustainable projects within their own territory.
The leadership consists of:
-
Manipá Shanenawa (President)
-
Xanupá Shanenawa (Vice President)
-
Vawinawa Shanenawa (Treasurer)
The institute implements ecological, cultural, and social projects on site, including:
-
Protection of the rainforest
-
Reforestation and development of a tree nursery
-
Preservation of traditional knowledge
-
Strengthening the role of women in the community
All projects are developed in close collaboration with the local community and are guided by their values, structures, and needs.
Cooperation
The Shanenawa Family association supports this work conceptually, organizationally, and financially. The cooperation is based on trust, transparency, and a shared goal: sustainable development in harmony with cultural identity.
In this way, a connection is created between international support and local implementation – driven by the vision of the Shanenawa themselves.
