Reforestation of degraded areas

The goal of the project

The aim of this project is the ecological regeneration of areas damaged by deforestation or intensive use, including the purchase of land degraded by logging and livestock farming in the vicinity of the indigenous territory, and the reforestation of such land. The targeted planting of native tree species is intended to restore the natural forest in the long term.

Background

Protecting rainforests is of central importance for the global climate, biodiversity, and the livelihoods of local populations. Intact forests store CO₂, regulate the water cycle, and provide habitat for numerous animal and plant species.

Measures

  • Identification of suitable areas for reforestation

  • Selection and planting of native tree species

  • Long-term care and monitoring of the newly planted areas

  • Involving the local community in all phases of the project

Expected effect

  • Contribution to climate protection through CO₂ retention

  • Promoting biodiversity

  • Soil stabilization and protection against erosion

  • Strengthening ecological awareness in the region
